Dear Monsters,
Welcome back to our M.A.P. series, where we delve into the essential elements of New Age leadership. The M.A.P Method (Mindset, Actions, People) is the simplest and most universal leadership framework that works for every field or industry, everywhere across the world. Last week we discussed the first component, Mindset, and discussed how the leadership essentials go back to our roots and take us on a journey of self-discovery, self-awareness and self-reflection.
However, there is no amount of positive thinking that can bring you results, unless you do something about it. This is not a place where I will tell you that wishful thinking is all you need to reach the next level in your job, business or life.
Today, we’re delving into the second component: Actions. In the journey towards leadership excellence, we are overstimulated for actions. We conduct hundreds of tasks every week. The amount of work we get done nowadays is so large, that it can be completely overwhelming. That’s why are need to demystify the meaning of the word action. According to my M.A.P to success, it’s not just about taking any action – it’s about taking inspired action that aligns with our goals and true purpose.
What is Inspired Action?
Inspired action is more than just going through the motions; it’s about tapping into our intuition, our inner guidance system, and allowing it to lead the way. When our actions are aligned with our deepest desires and aspirations, they become a powerful force for transformation and growth. This is the step that follows the work with our Mindset.
How can we make this work?
- Creating Space for Aligned Actions:
To make room for aligned actions in our lives, we must first declutter our minds. This means letting go of daily complaints, negative self-talk, and limiting beliefs that hold us back from taking inspired action. Instead of dwelling on what’s wrong, New Age leaders focus on solutions and opportunities. By practicing gratitude and shifting our focus towards positivity, we create space for creativity and innovation to thrive. Decluttering has a therapeutic effect and also boosts our productivity, too. Start with decluttering your diary from activities that don’t add any value and create empty space. Space to fill with activities that are truly aligned with your goals.
- Letting Go of Perfectionism:
Another essential aspect of creating space for aligned actions is letting go of perfectionism. New Age leaders understand that perfection is an illusion – it’s the enemy of progress. Instead of waiting for everything to be perfect before taking action, they embrace imperfection and understand that growth happens through iteration and experimentation. By letting go of the need for perfection, we free ourselves to take bold risks and make meaningful contributions to the world. Sometimes we need to dare to try something completely new, jump out of our comfort zone. Open your eyes and stretch our thinking.
- Prioritizing Self-Care:
Self-care is a cornerstone of effective leadership. New Age leaders understand the importance of nurturing themselves – mind, body, and soul – to perform at their best. This means prioritizing activities that replenish their energy reserves, such as exercise, meditation, and spending time in nature. By taking care of themselves, they become more resilient, focused, and creative leaders, capable of inspiring others and driving positive change. How can you include self-care activities in your daily schedule? How are you going to enforce these activities? Think about it and start planning now.
